Photo is of my 1/2 English bull, 1/2 French bulldog, Jo-Jo. She loves to get in my recliner when I'm not sitting in it. I had just enough light to get a good photo of her. This photo was taken using the natural light from the window.
Maureen, did you do this portrait with your 50mm lens?
There is a term in photography, gesture, that I strive for in my portraits. This portrait of your dear friend shows that. It has lovely composition, curves leading to her eye, and warmth.
By the way, I'll be blogging about last night's twilight. Wasn't it amazing? Good to know we're close enough to share the desert's miracles.
Do I used my 70 - 300 mm telephoto lens. I can't get that close to Jo as she want to jump in my lap! lol Thanks for the nice comments.
I didn't really get to enjoy last nights twlight as I was driving home from work in the rain. I had to stay late to do an upgrade that did go smoothly. I'll check out your blog so I can see some photos of what I missed.
This is my favorite and I changed my buddy icon on Flickr to this one. I sent it it to iStock but they rejected it for the lighting. I thought the lighting was perfect...see what I know...not much!

You captured her dignified elegance with your camera.
Great!
