Photo Quest # 41 Artificial light - runs 12/16 - 12/23/08

Yes, we are still on the subject of light.  The light on your subject will make or brake you photo.  For this week's assignment experiment with artifical light.  Don't just use a flash, try a flashlight, a candle, christmas tree lights, spotlights, outdoor lights, match light, florencent light any type of artificial light you can find. 

Try light from the front, back and sides, how about top down or bottom up.  Do have some fun with this assignment.  Post your photos taken during this quest by next Monday.

I had a photographer take ecellent photos o fme all due to his expertise in lighting. It was astonshing the differenc eit mae compared to another photographer who shot me the same way horror films are shot, all shadows on my face. In those ohotos I looked about one hundred anf fifty years old. I nevefr realised how much technical work there is in photography. It's more than just seeing and snapping a good composition and it is a true ART.

Yes you are right a good photographer will use light to enhance the subject not make the subject look bad. Photography is all about light and the lack of light how it plays on the subject. With digital photography and photoshop you can control the light even more.

I bought Portrait professional a software that improves protraits and minimizes wrinkles, evens out skin tones and can take pounds off the face. It is fun to use and really improves the photos.

Don't we all wish it was that easy to do to the actual subject rather than just the subject's photo? ; )

Who knows?- With the way technology is progressing, maybe someday it will be...

LOL! They already have pills to finx us up on the inside, why not a pill for the outside, too? Of course, we might all end up looking exactly alike, and I guess that might be a good thing, too -less racism, ethnocentricity, maybe?Hard to fight with someone who looks exactly like you! hey- now we have a science fiction plot going here.
